    63 seats

The seat adjuster handles were brazed to the actuating levers on my 63. Want to replace the rusty handles with pristine ones. Is brazing factory practice? How are the repro handles for 63?

Rick, the brazing/spot weld was a common practice as the parts started to break down, wear out or just fall apart on the 63 seats. There should be none on the handle or where it attach's.

Take a dremel with a cutting disk and gently cut through the welds. New handles are available from most of the parts houses. While you are in the area clean everything, check the return springs that attach to the handles and tighten everything.

Thanks Harry. Have already removed the braze by heating, no damage to the levers. Will buy new repro handles.
