Re: 61 Disc Brakes ?
WHY? Whats the matter with drum brakes? The conversion kits don't stop you any better and they all use inferior roller bearings from Ford Pinto applications. I ran one of these disc brake systems and lost the RF wheel bearing with Howard Loomis in the car doing about 80 mph on the way to Georgia. The next year I lost the other wheel bearing doing 90 on the bridge over the Tennessee River! I'm damn lucky to be here. I have installed stock ball bearings and built a plate (shot peened and hardened it) to hold double piston JFZ NASCAR calipers. NOW I stop right and don't worry about cheap Pinto bearings made in China!

Re: That's not just luck, Dale.
I don't drive fast! Fast is 130 mph and up! Once in a while I drive fast but not very often. Up until recently, as age begins to take its toll on my reflexes, my motto was, "Drive Faster, More Quickly, More Often". Now I wanna just go more quickly, more often!..............And I ain't talkin about senequat! (although I do enjoy Senior Citizen's Happy Meals at McDonald's........prune juice and a bowl of oatmeal)- Top
