    C2 Exhaust Heat Sheilds

Does anyone have a photo of the left side heat sheild for a 1965 they can post or email me? I have purchased a set of repro heat sheilds, the right side fits great, the left side is not even close to fitting the pipe.

    Thanks,

    George

        George,

When I purchased mine from Long Island, they gave me both the same side. If you can, check the part# on the bag they came in.

Are you talking about the spark plug HEAT shields or the spark plug RADIO INTERFERENCE shields?

            George,

When I posted my response, I assumed you were talking about the exhaust pipe heat shields, one on each pipe where it goes under the car...

              Joe,
The I am asking about the exhaust pipe heat sheilds that are mounted under the car. As posted, the right one is a perfect fit, the left one is not.

              Thanks,

              George

                Rob,
Yes that is what I am asking about, I do have two completely different sheilds in the bag. The left one is fine, the right one of them is either bent incorrectly, or my repro exhaust pipes are different than the originals.

                Thanks,

                George

OK, I misinterpreted your question. As I now understand it, though, there are several things that could be causing your problem.

First, there were several of these shields originally used depending upon 2" or 2-1/2" exhaust and, in some cases, transmission option. You may have received the correct shield for one side and an incorrect shield for the other.

Second, you might have a replacement front exhaust pipe on the side that is having the fitment problem. This could be either a GM replacement or an aftermarket replacement. Since these shields are quite "form fitting", if the configuration of the exhaust pipe is at all different from the original pipe the shield was designed to fit, the shield won't fit properly.
