Spare wheel tub and cover 65 with aluminum wheels

I have a problem that I really don't know what to do with what I have.
The upper tub that contains the spare wheel has about 30 linear inches of the "L" shaped edge knocked off. I presume from a hard bump or side walk edge. Also The lower cover has about 20 linear inches of the front edge knocked off. What to do?, as these two pieces are original parts. ( ie black resin and white fibreglass filaments showing, and all the bumps and holes for screws in the correct places.)

1.... clean and re mount them on the car as is,

2.... repair the edges if possible,

3... order new incorrect tub and cover and install on car, and throw the originals away

Any comments?

Are you going to have it judged? There was posts about repairing this lip awhile back. If your judging and this is your only issue I'd leave it and take condition points that would be deducted anyway for a repair job.

I would not through the old one away. Why don't you try to fix it. You have little to loose. I took some plaster of paris and made a mold of the good portion of the lip removed it and used it as a form where the lip was damaged. There is some information in the archives on this subject as I remember it being discussed before. Someone had suggestions to match the original color of the fiberglass by timnting the resin. There were suggestions for a release agent to remove the part after it hardens. I used some silicon spray.
