    '67 Protecto Plate

    All,

This is the POP for a '67 I am considering. The tape seems to be missing the "GM" embossment. Also see the trim tag. Any thoughts?

    Thanks in advance . . .

Trim looks OK, POP is funky, could have been a cheap dealer and saved on the GM dymo tape. Looks like the first owner lived in Mexcio was the dealer in Mexcio also?

No, the original dealer was in Texas. I'm not sure how the car got sold to someone in Mexico but that is the tale I'm being told. Have others seen POP's without the dynmo tape?

The pics are a little blurry and the trim tag pic won't enlarge.
I would suggest that you find an experienced judge in your area to take a closer look at them.

Wondowed why the Protecto-Plate shows a STD interior and the trim tag plate indicates a 402 (leather interior)

Interesting observation. The interior is definately vinyl and has been redone. Not sure why anyone would recover seats in a downgraded material.

I have heard of trim tags saying vinyl and the car being leather, but never the opposite.

I have a small collection of original warranty booklets with original protect o plates and some do have tape without the GM logo. Possibly some dealers were cheap on this.
