    !972 Fusible link "Bizzzit"

Does any one know what the fusible link looks like in the engine harness just after the starter positive, and where it is? Thought my battery was disconected when I took out my starter and "Bizzzit" it wasn't. I was using one of those green ****** disconects. Now I have no power after my starter on my 72.

Just unwrap the vinyl tape from the end of the wiring harness serving your starter and about 3-4 inches back, you'll see the fusible link that's spliced in-line. Since this portion of the wiring harness sits in a 'hostile' environment (connected to the starter beneath the ramshorn exhaust manifold), I've seen more than one blow simply due to time and heat fatigue...

Cut out your existing link and walk it down to your local autoparts store. Replacements are pretty much the same as factory original (might be a color difference and/or end lug geometry difference), but they substitute based on the gauge of wire the circuit they're installed in uses. The parts counter man should look, see a 14-Ga, 12-Ga, Etc. and run/fetch you a replacement. Go figure it'll run something like $2 or less.
