    '63 headlights

Just recieved my overhauled headlight motors from Steve Hackell; they look great. After installing them my headlights work better , but still seem to be under some drag. I did notice when the motors were out and I manually turned the buckets they were not as free moving as I would have thought, but attributed this as possibly "normal". Given the above, is it possible to lube the housing pivots or is necessary to remove and repair them as outloned in the shop manual? Thanks

The best way is to remove the buckets thoroughly clean and lub the balls, shafts and sockets. You may also want to replace any warn parts and the felt washers. To help prevent scratching or chipping paint, I put masking tape on all the edges before removal and assy.
