    66 Power Brake Pedal Adjustment

I am redoing my brake/clutch support, and when adjusting the brake pedal, I run out of rod length for the clevis before the pedal shaft hits the rubber bumper. I am wondering if PB pedals are supposed to line up with the clutch pedal or are closer to the fire wall? That appears the only way to get the required 1/8 to 1/4 inch play.
Also, there was no brake return spring on the shaft when I pulled the support, and I have put a new spring on. Do PB 66 cars have the return spring? I see in the archives that 63-64 cars do.
The AIM is unclear about this. Thanks,
    Dave

    Dave -

Power brake cars don't use the torsion brake pedal return spring; that function is provided by the booster.

      Thanks John,
I verified that to myself by finally checking the parts catalog and finding that the 65 and 66 PB cars indeed not use the spring. They do list it for the 63-64's(except Spec Perf HD brakes).
Checking with some folks, I believe that the PB brake pedals also do not match the clutch pedal, but are closer to the firewall.
Getting ready to install the cluster soon. Just making sure I don't forget any little things under there while it's easy to access.
      Regards,
      Dave
