    C5 Oil change

I know that snythetic versus fossil oil discussions have been gone over many times. What was the consensus for my 2002 C5 changing to regular 10-30 oil??
Even tho manual states syn. oil is it necessary? I live in year round weather above 50 degrees. Don

You're off warranty, so you're on your own.

As long and your oil temps don't run consistently over 230F mineral based oil is probably okay, but you should change it every 5K miles or one year, whichever occurs first.

If you continue to use Mobil 1 you can follow the oil change monitor, which will probably let you go 10-15K miles (or one year) depending on your driving conditions.

Mobil one costs twice as much, but only needs to be changed about half as often on a daily driven car. That's the basic tradeoff.

The way these engines are assembled with such close tolerances I would stay with Mobil-1.
