C2, 64 Fresh Air Pull attaching screws?

Need to know what the screws are that hold the fresh air pulls to the instrument cluster for a March 1964 car.

AIM (pg D54,D58) list screws as 273446 and the TI/JG calls for black phosphate countersunk Phillips. I have some screws (#10X3/4")that seem to fit just fine ( can screw in by hand), however they are repro and were purchased for securing the steering col. 1.What is correct screw for fresh air????

AIM (pg D172) list screw as 9417378 and TI/JG (pg36) calls for black phosphate Pillips non countersunk - need to find some of these and again the #10X3/4" screw fits just fine. 2. What is correct screw for column?????

PS unable to look up the pn's in my parts manual, 3. in what manual are these listed????

all the fastners you need are available from long island corvettes. they add in driveline. mike

Hi Mike,

I've purchased repro screws from LI and that's why I'm asking for help.
The fresh air pull screws are round head silver 1/2" - not per AIM.
A second try from paragon - recieved black, but round head again.

The fresh air pull and the steering column brackets are recessed for a pan head style (counter sunk)screw.

The two screws from LI for the steering column appear to be correct and I intend to use these in all three locations (air pulls are 1/2" not 3/4") Assume the lenght is why a different GM pn is called out in the AIM? Since the TI/JG calls for the black phosphate, I plan to use that color. Right or Wrong; those who have the Gold make the rules.

PS I've found both repro sources excellent and will continue to use them!

Correct screw is pan head black oxide finish. It appears you are comfusing an oval head with a pan head. Second answer.... Now what style bracket does the vent control have sheet metal or cast design. If it has the latest cast design with a countersunk hole the oval head will fit. There was a change between 65 and 66 and I'm not sure when...........that's the reason for the two screw possibilities. I also think there are flat hole cast types. My questions are for 1964. Checked the supports - they are sheet metal and original. So I would assume the round head (#10's) would be the ones to use in black oxide.
The AIM says "countersunk" (see my first post) this must be wrong! The LI screws are silver and I assume that's wrong???
SO - 1/2" round head #10 screws in black oxide are correct for 1964 with metal supports??????
