    Incredible Reincarnation : 396 (gestation 32 mos)

The auto-load picture shows a June 2003 eBay listing: Car appears again March 3 2006 as a complete car. The seller (then) and the new 2006 seller may both be NCRS members, and their descriptions are both above-board (IMO). My aim in posting this to show what is possible with time, $$$, and excellent documentation. I can post other pics of the MSO and orginal title from the 2003 eBay listing, if asked.
    --------------------------------
(here's the original description of eBay seller of front clip)
This is all that is left of a 1965 Corvette Coupe with the 396. i have owned this for almost 20 years and had parted it out when these cars were not very hot. This is a Maroon Maroon car that originally came with the 396 as evidenced by the copy of the MSO. this car spent its entire life in Ft Myers Fl up until 1992 when i dragged it up with me to the N Ga Mtns..I have also shown a copy of the original title. What you are bidding on is a piece of history. I do not have a title and this piece has been sitting outside so there is extensive rust. This is being sold as is where is how is etc etc...I can deliver within a 100 mile radius of Atlanta for a small delivery charge or I can bring with me to the Bloomington gold show later this June.
note [MSO bhp = 53.6 for 396; (if 327, =51.2 bhp] (from jpeg of MSO of # 22301)

I still think it's BS frame off? off what? doesn't say anything about how this car started as a trim tag and VIN, at least I thinnk I see them in the first picture.

Amazing what a guy can do with a few extra parts and some spare time.

How do we know the car beneath the newly purchased vin tag isn't stolen?

Here's the MSO and Title (June 2003 eBay listing)

Note the 53.6 SAE brake horsepower, as proof that original 396. Click link below for the original Florida title.

I am assuming in all this that no hanky-panky has occured. Can't help it if I'm an eBay jpeg pack-rat for things 396 and big tank. Heck, if it was me going to this effort, I'd be installing an Arizona N03 kit as well.

If you blow the picture up, it looks like there is a VIN tag, maybe the owner can give us the details, but one we know the car is that rare base primered gray.

                  Wayne,
What was the selling price on the ebay 2003 listing?

Al, starting bid $1500. no bids with 4 days to go (when I copied the data). I've forgotten how it ended.

To William: there's one more jpeg of the RHS of the cowl area, but can't make out the trim and VIN tags because of the grey primer.

                      Oop's

Just noticed that the carcass seems to have an option that the completed/restored car doesn't have. Anyone else see anything weird?

                          Wayne,
I think this car was for sale at the Orlando show and sold there.

                            Al,

Yup, the power window option seems to have disappeared on the new replica version. I'm sure there's a perfectly logical explanation though.

                              Michael,
Maybe the paper work with this car will show that it is a "rare" power window delete option car!!

                              LOL, Al
