    C3 Top Radiator Baffle questions?

The rubber baffle that is stapled to a metal bracket, that mounts on top of the radiator core support, what should that be mounted with? The A/M says "screws", but what type? Any head marks? What I removed were hex head coars threaded screws with no head markings, are those correct?

    Thanks,

    Steve

Year? Engine Option? AC or no AC?

That would help. There are (seemingly) a bazillion C3 combinations.

      Sorry,

I would think the mounting hardware on this part would be the same, but....

      It's a 68 BB, No A/C, 4spd

      Thanks,

      Steve

Yes, that one, but I'm looking for the screws / bolts? that mount the metal piece to the Radiator Core Support.

          Thanks,

          Steve

Look at Doc's site. If he doesn't have it, then I'm not sure where to look.

              Steve

My unrestored 68 BB w/o air uses 3/8" drive hex head course threaded screws to hold on the bracket. The screw is a washer head and the top is indented with a head mark. The screw is heavily plated in black and the head mark can not be read. The head mark is a single letter surrounded by 3 line space 90 degrees apart.

                Ok,

mine was held on by course thread hex head screws, but thought that didn't seem right? You would think they would loosen up over time? The assembly manual shows a washer under the screws, does yours have washers other than the flared head of the screws?

                Thanks!

Re: C3 Top Radiator Baffle questions?

I double checked what I took off, they are course thread "screws", hex head, with a "D" head mark with three lines at about 9,12,3 o'clock positions.
The heads are somewhat like a rosette, not perfectly round, and they have several circles on the underside of the heads. The factory coating appears to be black oxide or black cad? I have two with the factory finish on them, the others I had replaced white cad, so I will spray them with a "black oxide" spray paint I guess?

                    Thanks agian,

                    Steve
