Found a correct date coded alternator with 37A & correct part # for 64 l-75 no a/c
This is a good core but has not been tested.
My question is how to prep the case to bring it back to look the best it can. I've been told not to bead blast it.
Another problem is someone used sandpaper to scuff the surface where the numbers are. Not deep but they did shine up a spot about 3" long by 1"
Rebuilding the alternator is not a problem for me but restoring it back to a factory fresh look is something quite different.
Can I buy date coded diodes?
Can I use the internals from my 60A alternator on my car now?
Is it better to farm this out to get the look I want?
