rear license plate light housing finish

Hello

Can someone please tell me the finish for the rear license plate light housing on a 62 corvette? Was it painted or unpainted? If painted, what color?

I believe semi-gloss black.

I just checked mine which is an unrestored origonal. I have owned it since 1966 and have known the car since it was new. It is painted semi gloss black as is the area behind the license plate. Any other questions let me know.

Mine is zinc plated with the area around the lens painted flat black. Terry

Terry is right on--entire piece is plated, area around the lens is blacked out.

Sorry, I didn't disassemble mine to check on the whole thing. Only saw the part that was exposed.
