    Plastic envelope dating?

I have a 1972 Coupe and am trying to buy a "plastic" envelope for the

    literature package.

What date and part numbers are "correct" for a(J08) May 8. 1972 build date car?

Also, have two "original" Owners Manuals.

One is a "first edition" dated Sept.1971

Another I have a "second edition" dated January 1972.

Which of the two would be correct to have with my literature package for

    a "J08" build date car?

    Thanks....

    Dave,
1972 envelopes have no markings at all. It is a clear version of the earlier plastic envelopes and it is unique to 1972 Chevrolet passenger cars including Corvette.

I think you'll find the two editions of the owner's manual have the same GM part number on them meaning they were mixed in the plant's inventory bin and either could have shipped with a given car after their respective release dates. But, it's probably 'more correct' for you car to have gone out the door with the second vs. the first edition of the book...
