    Chuck -

I believe most Q-Jets are capable of flowing 700-800CFM; I'm sure experts will chime in on the numbers.

Chuck all Qjets will flow 750 CFM some Pont.& Buicks HP 800CFM they just increase the Primary Bore 1/32.The top Secondary Air valves will only allow the the amount of air the engine can draw.Thats what made this Carb so universal just by changing jetting & metering rods your carb could be used on 327-454.Chevy never used 800 CFM version 7040205 (1970 454 LS-5 M/T)was the highest fuel-air ratio Qjet for Chevrolet.7040207 is 1970 350/350 HP M/T Corvette only and it is one of the rarest carbs because of it's low year production. I restore Qjets Chevy only 67-74 and have only found 2 of these in the last 5 yrs.

          Re: Thanks one and all

Thanks for the insights. I at least now know what I have, and what I'll be up against in trying to carb up the power plant I'm rebuilding.

          Thanks again,

          Chuck
