I have a C3 in which I would like to replace the vinyl interior and loop carpet with the custom interior. Would this be a major deduction in judging. I just feel the vinyl is too hot. Would this be considered a serious misrepresentation? I am considering having the car judged by NCRS.

Re: Interior replacement
It would only be considered a misrepresentation if you were to also change the trim tag to reflect the new interior trim code.
Just changing the interior but leaving the original tag would be considered 'not typical of factory production' and carry a very heavy deduction.
BTW, the leather seats aren't much cooler than the vinyl.- Top

Re: Interior replacement
The JUDGING REFERENCE MANUAL lists standard deduction for such changes--50% if the material is changed to something available that year; 100% if color and material are both changed or changed to something not available that model year.
I have had both vinyl and leather interiors and there is not much difference in the temperature comfort zone.- Top

Re: Interior replacement
Make 2 sets of seats. The frames are easy to come by, so you can cover one in vinyl and one in leather. Switch depending on your preference and mood, but leave the trim tag the same.
