    rear end fluid change

    what would be the easiest way to change the rearend fluid in my 1963 ? anyone have a easy solution to this ....................THANKS ALL

    get a 60cc syringe at the local pharmacy, attach a 18" long piece of 1/4" windshield wiper hose to the syring and suction the oil thru the fill plug. you won't get it all but it'll be refreshing for the differential. mike

      Take it to someone.

      The next easiest is to have a lift or pit, then use a suction gun to suck out the old stuff and pump in new.

      I have a 4.11 rear that is really easy. It was from an old racer. They drilled through one of the camber bracket bolts and so removing that bolt gets the unaware a surprise!

      Not recommended, though.

        As has been suggested, you use a suction gun to draw it out. Any decent auto parts store can sell you one. It is also helpful to use this same item to put the new diff fluid IN.

          If it is a posi rear, be sure to add a bottle of GM Limited Slip Axle Lubricant Additive. Don H.
