C-3 Headlight Supports

Is there any way to distinguish between early68-74 headlight supports and the later 75-82 supports. I looked on my 71 supports and found some casting numbers left side 331825-6 and right side 3318262. Are these the same on the later version or would these be different. Is there an easy visual way to tell the difference.

The cast-in numbers will "tell the tale". The problem is that these supports have all sorts of numbers cast all about them. Numbers that I would expect to find somewhere on the 68-74 supports would be "3915681", "3915682", "6258533", and "6258534".

Numbers I would expect to find somewhere on a 1975-82 support would be "347889", "347890", "14084417", and "14084418".

The inside mount at the front is short to allow for the jut in of the new style bumper after `75

I've had people swear to me they have NOS GM supports for 68-74, only to find you get the newer style and they provide a spacer block to slip between the front mount and reinforcement to make it work. The box and I believe the instructions are GM.
