Looking for 69-70 silver wheel paint "code"

I know this is a tough one but I hope that I'll get lucky.I searched the archives and found out that there is no code for this paint. Looks like someone back in the day caused an error when mixing the paint and rather than fix it, GM just deceided to go ahead and use it as is.

I found a posting of an argent silver mixture with a few drops of green added and was wondering if anyone could be a little more specific with this mixture, like what kind of green and was it a pint or quart batch, or maybe someone has their own recipe that they would like to share. I know that I can get it from OEM paints but it is pretty much impossible to ship paint to Canada so I need to find some kind of instructions for getting it mixed localy.

I found code DAR8568 for ppg paint in the archives earlier this week. This code corresponds to what the ppg distributor looked up. They charged me $18.75 with tax for a rattle can of it. I haven't had a chance to check the color yet, hopefully will this weekend.

I too was looking for an appropriate paint code when I was doing the wheels on my 68. I had no luck in finding one for argent silver with a greenish hue. However, I did find, from a search in the archives, that the paint code for 67 wheel silver was DDL 8568.

Out of frustration, I had my local PPG dealer mix up acrylic urethane (Concept DCC) corresponding to this code. The finished wheels look absolutely great to me, but I do not intend to have this car judged.

Allen as soon as you get a chance to try your paint I'd appreciate a quick e-mail letting me know if you are happy or not with the green hue if in fact there even is any.

Henry, I found that code in the archives as well and I think that is what is to be used along with a "few" drops of green to give it the green hue. My problem is I can't for sure figure out how much silver and exactly how many drops of which shade of green to mix to get the proper color.I too was just thinking of spraying them the argent silver because of all the grief trying to get it dead on but I plan to have it judged and because I live so far away from any meets, I have to get it right the first time, plus I still have time to keep trying for this elusive "code:.
