I recently removed the dash harness on my '64. There are many messages in the archives regarding removal of the dash cluster. Pull the steering collumn, use the long bolts for support as described in those posts, mark everything (masking tape or lettered sticky wiring labels keyed to a list) and pull the cluster. I know of no instructions regarding the rest of the removal process, but it is pretty straight forward. follow the wires one by one and disconnect them, labeling as you go. You will need to remove the two bulkhead connectors that plug into the back of the fuseblock, and remove the two screws that hold the fuseblock to the interior side of the firewall (you have to remove fuses to get to the screws). Note that a few wires pass through a firewall grommet (at least they did in '64). To remove those, either slice the grommet or remove the wires from the connectors one at a time, pass through the grommet, and then reattach the connectors. Once the cluster is out it shouldn't take more than a couple of hours to finish the job.

        Hi Ken

When replacing a dash harness in a mid year remove evrything as mentioned in the other answers. Put the gauge assembly on the bench and hook up all the new wiring. Then install back in the car starting with the clock, heater, radio, glove box and courtesy wiring. This will require two people however it is much quicker and easier. Hope this helps.
