What would the wording be on a USA-1 front license plate for 1971? "Putting you first in a big way" or "See America's first"?

Re: USA-1 plates
Tom,
The "Putting you first" plate is in fact the correct plate for 1971. That was the slogan for that year. "On the Move" was the slogan for 1970 but that was never put in a GM plate to my knowledge. The other blue/white/gold plate shown above was used pre-1971. The red/white/blue plate was introduced in approximately 1974 or 1975. Remember the real plates are quite heavy. Any reproduction would most likely be aluminum.- Top

Re: USA-1 plates
Thanks for the replies. I thought the "Putting you first....." was the correct one. I recently came across both (reproductions, can't afford the real ones!)just wanted to make sure I put the "right" one on. The white/gold/blue color combo goes real well with the Bridghampton Blue on the car. Tom- Top

Re: USA-1 plates
Justin,
The red/white/blue plates were introduced in the 74/75 area. One could make the conclusion that all the dealers had until 74 or 75 were the "Putting you first" plates so they used them after 1971. The point here is they were introduced in 1971 and it was a 71 slogan. Dealers and car owners could use them on anything at anytime. It most likely was put on your truck when new because it was the only Chevrolet plate available.- Top
