    1961 vented brakes

does the fan on the bearing hub and the screen wire backing plates on a 1961 mean this car has the suspension package also. What is the option number for these brakes and how rare is it?

RPO 687 was the option code. Came with a quick steering adapter. Look for holes cut in the grill area below the horns. This is were the fiber glass air director
s where bolted. Can't remember how many but it was like 160 made that year. It also either came with the HO fuelie or 2x4. I have also an RPO 687 61. Eric 3,182

There wasn't a "suspension package" in 61--the last difference in front/rear springs was in 59. 61 would have standard front coils and standard 4-leaf rear springs--but shocks with a larger diameter.
The parts you have were easily bolted on after the fact--as already indicated, the best indicator of whether or not your car was originally an RPO687 car is if it has the square holes outboard of the lower corners of the radiator.
