Late 69 uses a 70 Key

I have a very late 69 convertible with a VIN of 38305 built on 12-15-69, and it has an alarm. The key for the alarm, spare tire lock and rear storage compartment all use the same "K" key which is correct for a 1970. Could these have been the original locks installed at the factory? Does anyone else have 69 which uses a "K" key?

1969 & 1970 UA6 alarms used a Briggs and Stratton key which was like a key for the locking gas cap. Those locks had no cover over the key opening, and exhaust gasses entered the lock. They failed early in the life of the car. Those locks were commonly used on alarm systems on semi-trailers, and they used to be available on the parts aftermarket. I'm not sure what the current availability is, but hang on -- someone will post.
