    "I GOOFED" 1963 SWC window/windshield stain

Does anyone have a drawing or information on the location for the windshield and rear window clips for the stainless? I hope to be installing the glass with in the next few days. I normally take pictures or document this type of process during tear down, but "I GOOFED".

    Thanks for any help!

    Ray,

The rear windows have location tabs moulded into the fiberglass to show where the clips attach. The front windshield on a coupe has two different clips used. The only difference is the opening where the clip slides over a three thickness windshield frame and a two thickness section of the frame. If you have a 1963 shop manual or a assembly manual this is shown. I ended up with 13 top clips and 15 lower clips.

Be careful with the windshield corner clips (top and bottom) as these will need to be located to match with the clip that slides into the vertical side moulding top and bottom. I slid the clips into the side mouldings and installed them on the car and marked where the windshield corner clips need to be located then took the mouldings off and proceeded with the windshield clips and glass installation. The 1963 rear clips are all the same but the front windshield clips are 6 wide opening clips for a three thickness windshield frame and 22 small opening clips for two thickness frame. Then there are two special clips for the top that slide into the side moulding and different left and right clips that slide into the lower portion of the side moulding. Look at your assembly manual in section 1 sheet B 13 and study it for a while because it shows both coupe and convertible and they use some the same and some different. Hope this helps and is not confusing.
