I appreciate your help with two questions:
1-What is the correct size masking tape to use for the body mount shims? I could not find this referenced in the judging manual. So, far all I can find is a refernce saying that early 55 corvettes used two strips of 1/4" wide tape and that mid 55 corvettes used one strip of 3/4" tape. This is form J.A. Tripoli's Corvette Chasis Restoration guide. Am I correct that this means then that 3/4" was correct for 55?
2-When I took the body off the chasis, the shims were backed up by what looks like a cushion made from rubber-impregnated cloth. All of the repro body mount kits seem to use cardboard cushions instead. Anyone know where I can get repros of the correct cusions or get the material to fabricate them?
Thank you
