Does anyone have a reference or pictures of what the silver "touch up" spray looked like on the gasket for small block aluminum intake manifold applications (preferably non-FI)? It is discussed in the judging guide, but I've been unable to find any good pictures of what a typical appearance is. For example, since this area would have been painted after the manifold was in place, were the intake manifold attaching bolts affected? If you read the section in the JG regardint these bolts, they were unpainted, which would imply that the mask used for the gasket touch-up was fairly restrictive. Any information would help.

Re: C2: HiPo SB Intake Manifold Gasket Appearance
The intake on 350 hp 327 was only sprayed silver (aluminum color) to hide all the defects and overspray of orange. Typical factory coverage is about 2 inches wide (give or take) to cover the area adjacent to the cylinder heads and around the front to interface of intake seal. The rear was left pretty much alone. Coverage along the Runners and bolts is fairly good coverage in silver and it feathers out to none before the area that rises up to mount the carb. The intake gasket is reinforced black paper with a thumb tab. Paint pretty much covers up it's color idenity. Drop me ane-mail note if you want pictures of my 67 coupe.- Top
