Reading from Corvette by the Numbers, many Muncie 4-speed manicases, extension housing, and side covers have a casting date code. Coding system consists of two 1/2 inch circles which are divided in half. One circle denoted as 'status marker' provides latest blueprint change number & deviation notice letter if active. While the other circle, denoted as 'date marker' provides the month (as a number) and week of the month (as dots)when the part was cast. Can anyone provide me with any additional info with regards to explaining the following codes found on:
Main Case: one empty circle divided in half with the number 6 and 5 (fairly large to the left of the circle ???????????
Extension housing: two circles, one as 'status marker' with CM over 2-2 (explainable) while the other circle (date marker) has three dots (third week) and two numbers (7 & 9-not sure what this means ??????)
Side Cover: two circles, one as 'status marker' with CM over 4-1 (explainable) while the other circle (date marker) has small circle over the number 4 in the middle of the circle-not sure what this means ??????)
Thanks
