    Odo and rev counters

Question: If our cars are to be judges as they recently left the factory and had their dealer preps should the miles counter(and rev counter on early cars) not state a very low number when judged.

I don't find anything in the judging manuals about this...

    greetings,
    Rob.

I think we make an exception since it's illegal to change odometers. At least in the USA it is.

      Rob & Wayne ----

First Rob, if you are asking about '53-'55 with the rev counter, there is an acceptable ratio between the odometer and rev counter. Hopefully another more knowledgeable member will answer more specifically about how they are judged.

Secondly Wayne, when we restored my '67, I asked authorities here in Florida about resetting the odometer to zero miles. We did a "body-off" and the engine was rebuilt just before I bought the car. The authority indicated setting the odometer to zero was acceptable under these circumstances. That was 11 years ago and changes in Florida law may have occured since. Other states may have similar laws.
