Been freshening up ole Farm Use for upcoming autox season. gutted cats and installed a used Borla cat-back system. question pertains to the three heat shields that surround the factory LT5 headers: is it neceassary to ri-install these hateful bitches? thanks, mike

Mike,
People replace the stock headers with aftermarket headers in their ZR1 Corvettes and they have no heat shields.
The heat shields may reduce cockpit heat in some small measure but probably not so much you feet could tall the difference.
I would say leave them off.
