    Radio on/off switch "lube"

I have the radio out of my 69 on the bench to clean and lube it and try and get the light to work again. I sprayed contact cleaner into the switch to see if by some miracle that would fix it and to my surprise it started to work! Only problem now though is that after the cleaner evaporates inside the switch, the internals of the switch "hang up" a little when I turn it off. I turn it off but the light stays on and the radio still plays for a second or two and then I hear a little click in the switch and then it all shuts off. If I spray more cleaner inside to "lube" it up, then it shuts off as it should with no delay.

So my question is, what would be a suitable lube to spray into the switch and while I'm at it, what would be a suitable lube for the tuner mechanisims? Thanks guys.

Radio Shack, Color TV tuner cleaner. It both cleans and lubes. Solves all of those scratchy volume problems, about twice a year.

Thanks Wayne. Radio Shack (actually called The Source up here in Canada) didn't have anything to help me. Their stores have really gone down in past years but the sales person did direct me to a place that sells sprays for as you recommended, Color TV tuner cleaner and I did happen to find a product called NU-TROL Control Cleaner by MG Chemicals that worked great.

radio shack does sell a cleaner with lube. it leaves behind a mineral oil film. its hard to get the lube into the switch as it doesnt have any hole in it. try that stuff and find a gap beside one of the crimped tabs.
