I'm restoring my 69 washer pump assembly and wanted to know the correct factory plating of the metal washer pump assembly. I have two which I believe are original and have what appears to be a metal/silver coloring. It does not appear to have the typical cadium plating color to it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure which part you are talking about. If you are talking about the FRAME of the washer pump assembly, I'm not sure if it's natural steel or zinc plated. It's really moot, though, since the washer pump FRAME is conceled beneath the black plastic cover and can't be seen. If it were me, I'd have it zinc plated for protection whether or not it was originally so-plated. However, I think that it was originally zinc plated.
If you're talking about the wiper motor COVER (to which the pump attaches), that piece was originally zinc plated.
The wiper motor FRAME is of zinc-diecast construction and is not plated. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
