Looking for comments on the repro oil filter canisters now being sold by Paragon, others. Are they decent in form/fit/function? 'Flight' judging is not a concern. My existing OEM canister no longer exerts spring pressure on the filter & is getting rather dinged up at the mating surface. Thanks.

From a "form, fit, and functionality" perspective, I think that you won't be disappointed, at all; I think the reproduction will work perfectly. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

I have one of the canisters from Paragon and it is slightly thinner (the walls) than my original. I saw the refurbed canisters from Orindales at Carlisle last year. They looked real good. Also, canisters appear on ebay from time to time.- Top

Assuming that the cone & spring assembly are functioning properly, how high above the canister should the filter element sit when it is dropped in? I seem to remember ~3/8", but I'm not sure. Thanks.- Top
