    66 Repop Weatherstrip Issue

Hi - I am posting this for Dave Barclay showing his 66 convert weatherstip on the passenger side door.....the repop part doesn't have a small tab and screw anchor point that the original had. This part came from Paragon....I know there are two suppliers out there. Has anoyone else run into this? Do all repros have the configuration difference from the original part? Thx, Craig

      Doc,
Craig posted this for me since he knows how to post photos. The picture shows the reproduction piece placed where it would go if permanently attached. There is rubber missing where the hole is and where it should be on an OEM piece. The piece is secured there at the exposed drilled hole where an original push-in plug held the piece to the body.
Thanks and hope this clears it up some.
      Dave

I had the same problem with the pillar post weatherstrip on my 66 convertible. I tried to use the Corvette Rubber manufactured weatherstrips but found that they did not hve the original side holes to fasten to the pillar. After researching this I found that the other weatherstrip manufacturer, Metro, manufactured a better reproduction strip and purchaed the pillar post weatherstrip from Long Island Corvette. The Metro pieces contained the hole. LIC only sells Metro weatherstrip while most other aftermarket houses sell Corvette Rubber.

          Dave,
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, the pair I have are made by Metro according to the molded name on the back. Looks like I can try to contact Metro Rubber directly, or call LICS and see if they will answer questions about their product.
          Regards
          Dave

                  Dave,
I got mine about a year ago for a 1965 and they have the missing piece you describe/ show in the photo. Try Volunteer Vettes in Knoxville TN.
