63_park brake cable

I'm installing the park brake cable on the driver side. The cable casing has three fixed points; the snap-in at the center cross member, the retainer fastened to the rear cross member almost below the kickup, and another snap-in at the backing plate. With the cable casing snapped in at the cross member and the backing plate, I'm having a difficult time positioning the cable in order to fasten the retainer. If I am reading the diagram in the assembly manual correctly, the cable is supposed to arch up following the kickup. The cable position that I am getting is a horizontal arch to inboard. I only have one picture before disassembly, and it does not show an upward arch. Comments please.

Loosen one end if you want to change the bend, then reattach.

on your parking brake cable, if you are using the original style cable which is wire wrapped, make sure it is not resting against the fiberglass floor pan where it crosses over the rear crossmember. it will wear a hole in your floorboard.. showkar
