I have two 175 flasher units. One is greenish/gold with the lettering embossed on it. The other has the lettering stenciled on. I'm wondering which would have been original equipment on the V74 Hazard Flsher option in '66, specifically a late '66.

Re: '66 Hazard Flasher
Rob - I agree with Jeff on the embossed Signal-Stat 170 variable-load flasher being "correct" in the '66 Corvette Traffic Hazard - Warning Switch, UPC V74. The P/N call out (#5) in the '66 AIM for the flasher is 3843741 which should be the P/N for the Signal-Stat 170.
I can confirm that the P/N in the '66 AIM is not for the Signal-Stat 175. The GM P/N for the Signal-Stat 175 variable-load flasher is 3883794 (G/N 2.575).
The 170 was typically used in applications up to 4 lamps ('66 Corvette, Chevelle, etc) and the 175 was used in applications of six lamps or more. The 175 is one of the flashers (the other typically being the Tung-Sol 552, but sometimes the 536) used in the 1967 and 1968 Corvette Hazard Flasher system. The silkscreened versions of the Signal-Stat flasher came along in the 1968 time frame and later. Pete- Top
