L88 corral at San Antonio

I just received an email from a good friend and was told about an L88 gathering at the National convention. Its goal is to have the largest ever gathering of L88s even larger than earthquake L88! Since I was too young to afford an L88 in 1988 I can hardly wait to bring my car to San Antonio.

It's a 69 coupe, red with black leather interior.

That is great news! I was attempting to put together a gathering of LS-6's in '06 either at Bloomington or Corvettes @ Carlisle. Don't know if it will mataerialize or not.

I would certainly be interested in seeing the L-88's, as I missed the first gathering.

than Earthquake '88, to accomodate those that were not yet even a twinkle in their creator's eye.

Come on now! You don't think owners would be foolish enough to show up and find out that more were accounted for at the meet than St Louis produced, do ya?

On a more serious note, I think 161 real ones have been accounted for, that certainly would make an impressive gathering, to say the least!

If that many L88s show up, then it probably won't leave much room for 56s on their 50th.

Unforunatly there could be some truth to that but I will say this, people in the L88 community know which cars are real and which are creations. It is a lot easier to gather information on 200 cars vs. 1000s of certain models ie. 435 and FI cars so they are a lot more difficult to sucessfully create. As far as attendence is concerned the goal at earthquake 88 was 88 cars and was not met. I think that around 60 cars showed up and if 88 cars showed up for this gathering I would be very pleasantly surprised.

Currently, there's space for over 200 Corvettes reserved (100,000 sq ft) and an option for another 100,000 sq ft plus. Bring 'em all! The more the merrier! See y'al there! Gary....
