I have a 62 327/340hp car. I couldn't figure out why I couldn't get the slack out of the fan belt. the generator was all the way out on the adjustment and the fan belt is the correct part number. Then I measured the pulley and found it was for a low hp engine(3 5/8" O.D.). In checking the various catalogues I see the correct pulley listed as either 4" O.D. or 4 1/8" O.D. Can anyone tell me what the correct size of the pulley should be. Thanks in advance.

The outer diameter of the pulley is 4". -

Gen pulley is 4.11 inches in diameter. Solid lifter engines run at a higher RPM than hydraulic, hence the gen RPM is made optimal in the power band.
