69 lower shock mount nuts finish

I'm getting ready for some phosphating and was wondering what the proper finish is for these nuts that retain the rear shocks lower mount. Just wondering if they are a black or grey phosphate, cad, zinc, or just natural. Thanks.

It occurs to me that you may not be referring to the same nuts that I thought you were. If you are talking about the long hex nuts that secure the shock to the mount, those nuts were gray phosphate. However. if you're referring to the castle nuts that retain the shock mount shaft to the bearing support, that's a different story. I believe that these nuts were originally a plain, natural steel finish. However, I'm not 100% sure about this.
