    vac advance steel tube

I've been looking for the steel advance tube for a 70 L-46 for a long time now. Like most everything else I look for, the tubes available for all types of applications but mine.

Does anyone know if the tube that fits the big block is the same as for the small block? Or, where I might be able to find one for a 70 L-46? Hope to be getting my carb back from Jerry Lucks soon, and would like to add this piece when I reinstall the carb Thanks, Dennis

Zip has a vacumn hose set, perhaps they include the tube which I think it is the same as the base engine. You are refering to the U shaped tube? Please correct me if I'm wrong. Roberto, NCRS #30019, RMC

      Hello Dennis:

I believe the vacuum tubes are of the same basic configuration, if not identical they are very close. You will love your Jerry Luck carburetor.

I'm sorry to inform you but the 1970 base and L-46 vacuum tube(they are both the same) is one of the few of these tubes that I do not believe is currently available in reproduction. Why, I don't know. I'm sure that the "reproducers" are working on it, though.

Paragon had these tubes a while ago, a friend purchased one from them.

Paragon catalog has long listed the '71 tubes with a note asking for samples of '70 stuff. Could well be that there's a confusion factor here flowing from the unique twist of '70 NA9 (Cal emissions) option....

looking in the 68-72 dobbins fact book ,(4th edition) p.145& 146, the 1970 tube seems to be the simplist as for as the bends are concerned.( no compound, just 2 90 degree bends) The latest paragon catalog I have (winter 99), p69 shows all the tubes they offer. Any ideas on which tube could be "persuaded" to the shape of a 70?
