I'm repairing a factory injected '62 Corvette from New Orleans for the original owner. I brought it from N.O. to my shop in Mobile two weeks before the hurricane. Yes, that timing was pure luck.
Anyway... many years ago the owner installed a crimp-on terminal at the ignition coil end of the green wire from the ballast resister. I'm going to replace that aftermarket terminal with an original F-shaped brass terminal, but I'm not sure how long to make the green wire. I think the owner shortened this wire considerably when he did his terminal changeout.
Would someone with a factory injected '58 - '62 Corvette please measure their original green wire that runs from the ballast resister to the coil and post the length? I'm guessing it will be about 18", but I'm basing that only on what appears to route gracefully to the inboard side of the coil.
Thanks for your help on this.
