? about light switch grease...

I took a light switch apart to see if I could clean it up and replate it and do some other things to it. It is an extra that I had laying around from a 68 corvette/166 version. Inside I found a white grease smeared on the contacts. Is this white lithium grease or something special? Just wondering because I would like to clean it up and replace it with an appropriate grease. i use ac delco silicone dielectric grease. mike
