NOS intake or just "EXCEPITIONALLY EXCELLENT"?

Pardon me if this has already been discussed somewhere. I must have missed it.

I've read the description twice, but I can't find any wording saying this intake is new. It sure appears to be. Since the magic high dollar term "NOS" is not used as a key search word, what is being offered for sale here?

Hey, that is a NICE intake!

Check it out, the intake doesn't have the machined surfaces bead blasted to death. You can still see the machine marks everywhere. I bet it sells for $$$.

I beleive this is a new reproduction. Two weeks ago when he had it on there I e- mailed him and asked him certain specfic question's. All he could do is skirt around and not answer my question's. No quarantee on it being NOS. Said he bought it from Pro Tean 2 years ago, I don't think so. The intake supposedly sold for the $3050.00 and then he had it back on the next week. Private bidding and other queationable things show me it is a bonefaud fraud. john

I didn't realize these manifolds were in reproduction...is that recent? Are they from Winters foundary with the mark as shown? I would assume they would also be repop on the 435 version too then......Craig

Coffman corvette is reproducing them. They had them at corvette carlisle and Knoxville. They are $3000.00 dollars and any date you want. The 435 will be out before to long. Rumor has it he is going to do the blocks and the heads. You will start seeing these manifolds on E bay just like the one we were talking about. They are right on the money, but NCRS will find where they are not like the orginal's.

                Jerry,

I can tell you that the carb studs do not appear original. Original carb studs have a "dimple" in the center. As far as I know, no one has them, or reproduces them. I don't see the date in any of the pictures. A closeup of the rivets holding the shield to the bottom would help determining originality also. Assuming the price of this intake is based on it being original, I would rather buy one I know to be, and spend some money restoring the finish if necessary...Jerry MacNeish's Carmaro Hi-Performance can make an intake look new, including any repairs (410 781 0418)

There is an advantage to private auctions. When you keep things private, you don't have to worry about bidding against your friends and them knowing it. I know other 68 people and we all look for stuff on ebay and from time to time I find myself bidding against a friend, actually I really avoid bidding against people I know, just the way I am. By making the auction private (small corvette world) you don't have this problem. Just my humble opinion.

I agree with you about the manifold. If they can cast a cast iron exhaust manifold, why not an aluminum intake. Probably made in China I know a lot of the corvette people are farming there stuff out to China. Oh well...

I will say the bolt holes are perfect. I would say it was never bolted down. Someone would have had to keep it in a hermeticly sealed bag to have that color. Absolutely no oxidation on the surfaces. Hmmmmmm? Makes you wonder. Terry

If it is a Repop, he can just keep posting @ $3K until his supply runs out.

-----Since this seller is in Fresno and Ernie C is in Ohio, its my guess that this seller knows what he is selling and is skirting the NOS buzzword on purpose. I dont think that his description is a heinous misuse of the computer or E-bay, but he could probably have used the term "reproduction" somewhere so as to alleviate all this discussion........Bill S
