I want to replace the bolts on my 66 327/350 exhaust manifolds and need to know how the bolts,washers, and locks are installed. I know that the locks go on the outside runners, but are washers also used on these locks? If so, between the locks and manifold or between the locks and bolt head? Thank you.

I just installed the manifolds on my '65 last week. The heavy washers go between the manifold and the french lock. Where the shielding brackets are installed, the order is: manifold, heavy washer, shielding bracket, french lock, bolt head.
