    66 Carpet Support Assembly Position

I am installing a new tail light wiring harness and antenna cable in preparation for dropping the body on the frame tomorrow. All was well until I began clipping in the carpet support located inside, below the doors. At this point, I couldn't figure out the position of the slot located near the middle of the support (offcentered). The AIM doesn't illustrate this very well.

What is the assembly position of the carpet support?
Does this slot go forward of center and is the slot facing top or bottom?
What is the purpose of the slot?

    Thanks,
    Mark R. Johnson

If you are talking about the cutout...on a 67 the wirng for the e-brake lite switch exits thru this cutout. The cutout faces down. If there is an interlock on the shifter for an automatic it might also go thru the cutout Drivers side.
