1961 Corvette Rear Bumper Installation

Im in the process of reinstalling bumpers on a 61 car that has had a frameoff. The mounting holes for the brackets were filled in on the body and frame. Does anyone know the location measurements to redrill new holes for mounting the brackets? Is there a procedure to install brackets and bumpers etc?
This car doesnt seem to have any provision for windshield washers, were there some cars that didnt have ?

you mean that someone welded the frame/bumper bracket holes shut and ground the weld bead to the extent you can't identify the location of the original holes in the frame? if so, you've got tough row to hoe ahead of you. i can uinderstand why the holes may not be present in the fiberglass panels(either repo panels or body shop filled original holes with mat/resin +/or bondo.i'd tackle the problem by having a few friends over to help hold the brackets and bumpers in place while i marked the locations of the various holes you'll need to drill. all 61's had windshield washer nozzels to my knowledge(which is slowly slipping away) good luck with your 61 which are one of my favorite body styles. mike

Mike thanks for the reply, youve got it exactly right. Every hole was filled in. Is there any way to get measurements for the holes locations?

I would try Vette Products of Michigan. The reproduce the frames and may be able to help you out.

If you can locate a used frame somewhere, you can make a cast of the frame mounting holes and over-lay it on yours for positions. I have used this method and it works well. Casting material is in cloth form at most craft stores.
