C1 front end finish

I am trying to get the correct finish on the following 60 corvette front end parts. What is the correct finish (natural or painted) on the following parts? Third arm, kingpin, steering knuckle, connecting rod assembly, pitman arm, and steering gear.

Craig, My belief is that the items you have listed are natural (unpainted) on a 1960 Corvette. I have a document I have created over the years that I have derived from numerous Bowtie cars. If you like, I can send you a copy.

I just completed disassembly of a very original '62. All the parts you mentioned were painted black. In addition to the finish, many of these parts have inspection paints of different colors.

Thanks Ed. You would think this was an easy question. But each time I ask I get conflicting answers. Most responses have been that these parts were painted. Seeing that your 62 is very org. I am going with the parts were painted. I just wish I could find out how they are judge. Paint or no paint?
