Re: Crossmember dent removal tool.
I've seen posts on this tool many times. Is this dent caused by hitting low objects? Certainly poeple aren't pulling the recess for the big block engines. Someone please clarify this for me.

Re: Crossmember dent removal tool.
Chuck,
The dent the tool is used for is on the underside of the front crossmember. It is caused when that location is used as a jacking point. It results in that area caving in and leaving a sometimes large oval, nasty looking dent that is easily seen from the underside of the car. It is common in 1963 to 1982 corvette. Terry- Top

Re: Crossmember dent removal tool.
I'd like to see it as well as pictures of the tool itself. I made one over 20 years ago and still have it, but it requires removal of at least one of the coil springs and doesn't pull the dent completely out, but does do a fairly good job with heat. Please send to: Twister2X@aol.com Thanks.- Top

Re: Crossmember dent removal tool.
The tool and instructions are of very excellent quality , body shop quality, and can be used by the general public to pull and straighten those ugly dents on their crossmember easilly with great results . I would recommend the product and state that pretty much all of the cars i see at the shop all need this repair, just look under yours and it probably needs it repaired.- Top

Re: Crossmember dent removal tool.
You can use the tool with or without heat. The tool comes with shims to pull the dent slightly beyond a neutral postion. This is needed because the steel likes to spring back or rather retains a memory of the dent. Tool is also strong enough to use as an anvil to hammer on. I'll get some pictures out to you and some instructions as soon as I get home. Later, Terry- Top
