Are mid year seat frames interchangeable? I'm restoring a 63 that came with only one seat and will have to obtain another. For instance,can a 67 seat frame be recovered to to 63 standards and appearance?

Hi Dave -

'63 seat frames are unique. They have a "bent rod" seat adjuster handle that was replaced by a casting in '64. They have feet with built-in height adjusters, unique to the '63. I believe the rear seat frame attachment is different. Also, the seat backs are tapered (thinner at the top) whereby other C2 backs have a uniform back thickness bottom to top.

1963 seat frames are ONE-YEAR only, so if you are looking to restore to NCRS standards you may be looking for awhile - have seen them on eBay every so often
