I have ammeter fluxuation and light intensity fluxuation. I had my alternator checked at my friendly "AutoZone" and it tests good. I took the cover off my voltage regulator and noticed the "voltaqe regulator"? coil was fluxuating at the same frequency as the ammeter and lights. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what the problem is and what to do about it. The voltage regulator is new, ie not many miles on it sence I restored the car.

Re: ammeter fluxuation-1967 coupe
Sounds like you have one of two problems...
(1) The voltage regulator is genuinely bad despite being new (I'll bet the store that tested your alt can also test the v-reg).
(2) You have a bad connection (maybe more than one) in the wiring harness causing the voltage regulator to 'see' erratic battery voltage causing it to fluxuate commanding the alternator to charge/discharge/charge...- Top
